Leasing of modern buses and electric buses was approved in Vinnytsia

At the regular session of the city council on February 26, the issues that will allow updating the city’s bus fleet were heard. It is planned to increase by ten city buses on gas fuel, each of which is designed to carry hundreds of people. These buses are low-field and meet environmental standards. The bus fleet is also planned to be replenished with ten modern electric buses.

This was reported in the Vinnytsia City Council.

Renovation of the bus fleet is an urgent issue for the community, given the expansion of its borders and the need to improve transport links. This will improve the quality and comfort of transportation and take into account the environmental component. Today the municipal park has 66 buses and 1 electric bus.

Ten new Otokar Kent C CNG buses of Turkish production will be purchased on lease. This transport will be comfortable for people in wheelchairs and mothers with prams. After all, these buses are low-floor, have a ramp and a corresponding platform.

These buses run on compressed gas and meet the Euro-6 environmental standard. They have low CO2 emissions. Among the advantages of the electric bus – efficiency.
The buses have a cable network and are preparing for the fare validation system. There is also an information system (including an external speaker). Video recording system installed (outside inside).

The length of the buses is 12 meters. The body is resistant to corrosion. The engine is quiet, so it will not cause inconvenience to passengers. Independent suspension on the front wheels ensures smooth and safe movement. The manufacturer provides a complete set of cabin air conditioning and driver’s cab with digital controller. There is a set of the sensor of back parking, antifog headlights. Also, these cars have a modern driver’s area, in the cabin – anti-vandal seats.

Deputies also supported the decision to implement a project to purchase municipal electric buses. Vinnytsia Transport Company participates in the “Project of targeted environmental (green) investments for the implementation of measures related to the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol’s obligations to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change”, which is led by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Of Ukraine.

Implementation of the prepared project “Purchase of municipal electric buses for Vinnytsia city territorial community” will allow co-financing 70% (state budget) and 30% (community budget) to get 10 modern electric buses “Solaris” (made in Poland) with a large capacity of 20 years. As well as 3 fast charging stations of the pantograph type and 5 slow charging stations.

The implementation of both projects, in addition to updating the rolling stock of public transport and providing better transport services to the population, will have a positive impact on the environment in the city.
