The volume of financial leasing provided by banks decreased by 14% in 2020 – according to the Association of Lessors





Ukrainian banks entered into financial leasing agreements worth UAH 6.7 billion in 2020, which is 14% less than in the previous year. In the fourth quarter, the increase in the value of new leasing agreements of banks amounted to UAH 2.9 billion, which is the highest figure this year. The dynamics of leasing services by banks continues to grow rapidly for two consecutive quarters.

In 2020, financial leasing services were provided by 17 domestic banks. The share of the three most active banks increased significantly and reached 68% of the total value of transactions. The most active banks at the end of the year include: Ukrgasbank (29% of the value of new transactions of all banks), Privatbank (24%) and Kredobank (16%)

The portfolio of leasing agreements of banks grew by 10% during the reporting period, with a total value of UAH 11 billion. The portfolio has also been growing for two consecutive quarters. In general, the three largest banks in terms of leasing portfolio account for 63% of the total value of banks’ portfolios, and the ten largest banks – 98%.

The share of legal entities in new leasing agreements with banks was 88%, while the share of individuals was 12%. In the portfolios, the share of the corporate segment is similar.
