Uzhhorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv Bohdan Andriyiv, President-Chairman of the Board of PJSC Concern-Electron PJSC Concern-Electron Yuriy Bubes, Director of Uzhhorod Municipal Transport Communal Enterprise signed an agreement to supply 7 more new buses to Uzhhorod under the financial leasing procedure. Funds for the acquisition are provided by Ukreximleasing LLC, a subsidiary of the state-owned Ukreximbank JSC Ukreximbank, which won the tender for the selection of a financial institution. It will be recalled that three bidders submitted their proposals for the tender – Privatbank, Ukrgasbank, and Ukreximleasing LLC. According to Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv, new vehicles should arrive in the regional center of Zakarpattia in the fall of this year. Unlike the buses that already run in our city, the new batch will have slightly more seats, air conditioning not only in the driver’s cab, but also in the cabin, for passengers and some technical improvements – the manufacturer has taken into account the wishes and suggestions of Uzhgorod. So the fleet of the utility company will include 27 modern buses. Two dozen “Electrons” have been successfully operating in Uzhgorod for almost 2 years, Uzhgorod residents are very satisfied with them, noting that the transport is modern, convenient and comfortable. Thanks to the well-established work of the management of the utility company, the buses run according to the schedules, the drivers are polite.
Concern-Electron has been operating for over 100 years, said its head Yuri Bubes. The company started with the production of televisions, there was also aircraft construction, instrument making, electronics in space, etc. In the last 15-20 years, one of the main directions has been mechanical engineering, in particular electric transport and public transport in general. He noted that public transport in Ukraine today needs a major overhaul: 70-90% of rolling stock is worn out. The head of the Electron Concern sees the most correct way out of the situation as state programs, which, unfortunately, have been developed for a very long time. Therefore, it is good that there are local governments, including the Uzhhorod City Council and its deputies, which find their own reserves and renew public transport in their city.
We will remind, Uzhhorod – the only city of Ukraine of regional value where there is no electric transport, and till 2016 in it there was no city carrier which property would belong to the community. KP “Uzhhorod Municipal Transport” was established on December 22, 2016. Regular shipments began in late October 2018. Currently, the company has 20 modern large-capacity buses “Electron”, which serve 3 city routes: №№ 18, 20 and 24.
