The volume of financial leasing provided by banks decreased by 50% in three quarters of the year – according to the UKrainian Union of Lessors


Ukrainian banks entered into financial leasing agreements worth UAH 3.8 billion during the three quarters of 2020, which is 50% less than in the same period last year. In the third quarter, the increase in the value of new leasing agreements of banks amounted to UAH 2 billion, which is the highest figure this year. The dynamics of leasing services has been growing, which indicates a revival of the market.

Financial leasing services during this period were provided by 15 domestic banks. The share of the three most active banks decreased slightly, but remained at a high level – 70% of the total value of transactions. The most active banks in the three quarters include: Privatbank (34% of the value of new transactions of all banks), Kredobank (19%) and Taskombank (16%).

The portfolio of leasing agreements of banks grew by 1% during the reporting period, with a total value of UAH 10.1 billion. Portfolio growth is also an indicator of a change in the dynamics of roar to positive. In general, the three largest banks in terms of leasing portfolio account for 67% of the total value of banks’ portfolios, and the ten largest banks – 99%. The share of legal entities in new leasing agreements with banks was 79%, while the share of individuals was 21%. In the portfolios, the share of the corporate segment remained unchanged at 89%.
