Q2 and 1H 2018 UUL Members Results

Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017:

+ 2 bln UAH in the volume of new financial leasing transactions

+ UAH 2.8 billion in the volume of the portfolio of leasing companies

Companies-members of the the Association continue to rapidly increase the volume of new lease agreements. In the 2nd Quarter of 2018, the volume of new business reached 4,390 million UAH. compared with 2,865 million in the 1 st quarter of this year (+ 53% for the quarter). Compared to the 2nd quarter of last year, the growth of the new business was + 85%.

The leader in growth in the 2nd quarter of 2018 in absolute terms was the company OTP Leasing (+1.142 million UAH).

The leaders in the dynamics of new business growth in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were Scania Credit Ukraine (+ 255%) and VFS Ukraine (+ 203%).

As for June 30 the total portfolio of leasing companies – members of the Ukrainian Union of Lessors amounts to UAH 12.992 billion (without fees for the use of leased assets), which suggests a growth growth by 12.5% (UAH 1.444 million) since the beginning of 2018. In the same time, it`s 2.767 billion more (+27%) compared with the end of Q2 2017.

Leaders by lease portfolio growth are:

  • VFS Ukraine (+35%);
  • OTPLeasing (+27%);
  • Scania Credit Ukraine (+15%).

The share of the five largest companies – members of the Association in the total portfolio of the Association’s members comprises almost 80%.

Most of the leasing deals concluded during 1Q and 2Q 2018 included financing of motor transport and agricultural machinery.

Thereby, for the first 6 months of 2018, leasing companies – members of the association leased more than 4 thousand cars, LCV and trucks. The share of new passenger cars leased was 6% of all (39,492) sold in the first half of the year for new passenger cars in Ukraine. For trucks and LCV, this figure (leasing penetration) is 10.7%.

There is a significant difference in the penetration of leasing in the context of leading automotive brands. As follows, in the segment of passenger cars, the % of cars leased out in total sales of TOP 10 auto brands ranges from 1.3% to 12.7%. In the segment of trucks and LCV, some of TOP 10 brands have reached a benchmark of over 15%.

Of the 297 leased new tractors the most popular were Belarus, New Holland, and Case). Among the combines (harvesters), the leaders are: New Holland, John Deere and Claas. In total in the first half of the year were leased 669 items of agricultural equipment.
