Ukrainian banks have concluded financial leasing agreements worth about UAH 1.8 billion. in the first half of 2020, which is 63% less than the same period last year. Services in this segment during the reporting period were provided by only 14 domestic banks. The three most active took the lion’s share of the market: their combined share was 72% of the total value of transactions. The leaders were JSC CB “PrivatBank”, JSC “KREDOBANK” and JSC “TASKOMBANK”.
The portfolio of leasing agreements also decreased slightly, falling by 3.4% in the reporting period, with a total value of UAH 10 billion. In general, the three largest banks in terms of leasing portfolio have a share of 69% of the total banking portfolio of these agreements (these are JSC CB PrivatBank, JSC Ukreximbank and JSC KREDOBANK), and the ten largest banks generate 99%.
The main lessees for banks in the first half of 2020 were legal entities. Their share was 78%, while the physical 22%. Moreover, compared to the comparable period of 2019, the share of individuals has almost doubled. At the same time, the portfolio is still dominated by corporate clients, whose share is 89% at the end of the first half.
