These data were published by the General Director of the Ukrainian Union of Lessors Maryna Masich during the round table “Does Ukraine need leasing for the population?”, organized online by the “Financial Club”.
“In 2019, bank leasing leased items in 88% of cases to the corporate sector and only in 12% to individuals. But compared to 2018, this is a significant increase, because in 2018 it was only 5%, “said Maryna Masich.
According to her, only 5-6% of the total volume of new cars is leased to individuals, and the remaining 95% “goes to the corporate sector.”
“There is another layer – cars that were already in use. This is almost half of the volume of new car leasing provided to individuals, “she said.
Leasing market participants note that even before the corona crisis, there was an increase in demand for inexpensive vehicles, including used ones.
“We have an average check – 150-180 thousand per vehicle. In recent years, the demand for used equipment has tripled, ”said Igor Lazorenko, Director of the Legal Department of the Alfa-Leasing Ukraine Leasing Company.
There are already proposals for the market, which can be an operating lease for individuals for several days.
“Take a car for three or four days, a month. This topic is very relevant, especially in Europe. And we, the banks, need to think: maybe this is where the additional profit that we can not get from the usual financial leasing of cars, “- said Acting Valentina Marchenkova, Director of the Leasing Department of Kredobank.
