Today’s meeting was focused on the topic of taxation for agribusinesses, as well as government support for farmers and small farmers.
Maryna Masich , director of the Ukrainian Union of Lessors reported that foreign production equipment can also be leased. “In the context of limited bank lending and its accessibility, leasing is a real alternative to financing and upgrading fixed assets for agrarian small and medium-sized businesses,” she said.
Also, the director of the professional association of lessors in her speech suggested to put on the agenda the issue of support of agrarians by the state in the form of compensation of interest on leasing payments, by analogy with loans.
“ It is about the state supporting the agricultural producer, then many more agricultural enterprises will be able to reap the full benefits of leasing. Because the mechanisms of credit and leasing are similar, but leasing is much more flexible and affordable, it has a number of advantages: no collateral is required, no large credit history is required, reporting requirements are not burdensome, and the financing decision-making process is extremely fast (sometimes even several days to several hours)– , added Maryna Masych.
The Director of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Forum, Maria Didukh, announced generalized proposals to more than a dozen agricultural associations to the Bill No. 2482 “On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine”.
Volodymyr Pechko, Chairman of the Ukrsadvinprom GS, reported on the possibility of offsetting the cost of specialized machinery and mechanisms of foreign production (absent from the domestic market) for use in horticulture and berry production.
As the topic of leasing in the agricultural sector is extremely important, it was proposed to devote one of the next ministry meetings to leasing for a broader discussion.
