The Ukrainian Unions of Lessors, with the support of the USAID / FST Project, after a few years of not participating due to recession of Ukrainian economy, took part in the annual international conferences of the European Confederation LEASEUROPE (the Confederation unites in its ranks profile associations of leasing and auto-leasing from 32 countries).
This year, a pan-European convention took place in Venice and gathered more than 400 participants – representatives of business and professional associations of lessors and rental companies. “Ukrainian Union of Lessors” was represented at the conference the director by its director Association Marina Masich.
Among the speakers and moderators of the event, were more than 50 leaders of the most successful business groups and companies in Europe.
The main focus of the event was on the fact that the realities of today’s business are in high readiness for change. In such time, only quick response to the demands of the changing environment gives the companies a chance to survive and grow. One of the main requirements of the era of technical progress is digitalization. Almost all the experts paid close attention to this phenomenon in their speeches. Silvia Serez from Technooks has convincingly proved that every company will have to go through this path if she does not want to repeat Nokia’s share.
One of the brightest presentations of Oskar Farinetti send the clear message that every business needs to be done with great love and maximizing the benefits of its region and country, and that such benefits, when looking for love, can be found anywhere.
In further speeches, the speakers also analyzed the trends and opportunities of the European leasing market, noting in particular that it has a steady upward trend, especially in the automotive sector, and some decrease in real estate leasing.
It was also noted that growth could be much larger so that market participants make more efforts to raise the awareness of potential customers with the opportunities and benefits of leasing.
The speakers also cited peer reviews of the expectations of leading European players, which convincingly signaled that lessors are confidently predicting a steady growth in new business in the second half of 2018, a rise in the level of profitability, and the stability of the proportion of bad debt in portfolios.
Also, a lot of attention was paid to strategic planning and financial and software solutions for improving business efficiency. This time, American colleagues from the National leasing association also took part in the European conference, which told about the significant advances of leasing and related companies in financing equipment and technologies.
There were plenty of space on the forum to share thoughts and ideas. The Ukrainian Union of Lessors has established friendly relations with the peer Associations of Poland, Georgia, Estonia and Latvia, as well as with American colleagues for the further exchange of experience between our countries.
