The Kyiv City Council Standing Committee on Budget and Socio-Economic Development has supported the renewal of the capital’s bus fleet. According to the Kyiv City Council’s press service, this is a draft financial leasing agreement for the city’s purchase of vehicles from PJSC Ukrgasbank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Today we have taken an important step towards a significant renewal of the capital’s fleet. The commission supported a draft financial leasing agreement for the city’s purchase of 200 large and especially large buses. We are talking about 120 units of a vehicle with a length of at least 12 meters, and another 80 units with a length of 18.5 meters. The capital can receive buses in the fall, and the city must pay the funds over the next 3.5 years, “said Andriy Strannikov, chairman of the Kyiv City Council’s standing commission on budget and socio-economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cost of the lease is 50.7 million euros. Given the budget constraints, financial leasing is currently the only tool for updating the rolling stock of Kyivpastrans. PJSC JSB “Ukrgasbank”, 94.94% of the shares of which belong to the state, offered the most favorable terms of financial leasing, the deputies remind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, Kyiv will buy modern buses, fully adapted to serve all segments of the population. The share of low floor level is 100%. Salons and cabins are equipped with air conditioners, compliance with environmental standards not lower than EURO-5.
Today, the wear of the bus fleet is 75%. According to the Kyiv Development Strategy, this figure should not exceed 25%. During the period 2018-2019, only 9 buses of large and especially large capacity were purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, on March 12 this year, the Kyiv City Council decided to grant consent to Kyivpastrans to purchase buses in 2020 from PJSC Ukrgasbank. The budget commission’s support of the draft agreement is a step towards the implementation of the procurement.
Also, according to the decision, the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration when submitting budget requests to the draft city budget for 2021-2024 must include the need for funds to reimburse the value of the leased object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
