\u201cThe\nUkrainian Union of Lessors has successfully partnered with the USAID Financial Sector\nTransformation Project over the last three years in support of developing the\nleasing industry,\u201d said Marina Masich, Executive Director of Ukrainian Union of\nLessors. \u201cToday, leasing is a fast growing provider of finance to SMEs, with\nestimated revenues of UAH 24 bln in 2019. The grant will help us increase our\nservices to members and strengthen our Association. We appreciate the Project\u2019s\nconfidence in the leasing market and its professional Association.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLeasing can provide\naccess to finance to SMEs on advantageous terms. The industry is well placed to\nsupport the economy and its recovery,\u201d stated Volodymyr Kuzio, NBFI Team Lead\nof the USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project. \u201cA\nstrong, self-reliant professional Association will support good market conduct,\nrepresent leasing interests in the public forum, and facilitate growth and\ndevelopment of the leasing market,\u201d added he.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The grant funds will\nsupport: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Promoting leasing to SMEs (publications,\non-line information, regional events and market fairs);<\/li>
- Improving the professionalization of market\nparticipants through an annual conference, training, the introduction of a lessor\ncertification program, and automated reporting;<\/li>
- Conducting market research and data analysis of\npromising industries for leasing in Ukraine, including renewable energy and IT.\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The Association first cooperated with the\u202fUSAID\u202fFinancial Sector Transformation Project in 2017 on reforms to finance leasing legislation and the promotion of finance leasing to SMEs. From this beginning, the partnership expanded to include 22 regional outreach events for SMEs, an international conference, and professional training for UUL members on vendor finance, risk management, communications, and marketing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Association\n<\/em>Ukrainian Union of Lessors<\/em><\/a> (UUL) was founded in 2005 as a voluntarily\nunion of professional participants of the leasing market. The nonprofit\nAssociation\u2019s primary objective is to promote development of the open and equal-accessible\nmarket of operational and financial leasing in Ukraine by co-ordination of\nenterprises\u2019 activities in order to protected shared interests. Currently, the\nUUL unites 27 companies, among them leading leasing companies and\nrepresentatives of contiguous markets. The UUL is the only professional\nassociation in the industry, with members representing approximately 80% of\nUkraine\u2019s finance lease market.
