Press release. Statistics of car rental market. Q3 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the established European practice, the Association unites not only leasing but car rental companies as well. Not without reason the “Ukrainian Union of Lessors” (UUL) motto is \u201cVoice of leasing and car rental industry”.<\/p>\n All six largest car rental companies operating in Ukraine are UUL members. Five of them are worldwide recognized brands: Avis \/ Payless *, Sixt, Europcar, Hertz, Budget. One more, BLS, is largest and oldest local player. These six companies represent a dominant share of the Ukrainian organized car rental market.<\/p>\n We decided to resume quarterly analytics of the activities of car rental companies. We offer you to get acquainted with the main indicators of the Q3 2018 and 3Q 2018.<\/p>\n Number of cars in the park<\/strong><\/p>\n Aggregated car fleet (average in period) in the 3rd<\/sup> quarter amounted 1099 units. This is 3% or 36 cars more than for the same period last year.<\/p>\n * Activities under the brands Payless and Avis, belonging to the group ABG, is carried out by the company “VIP-RENT”.<\/em><\/p>\n Thus, there is a slow recovery of the fleet of cars and the entire rolling market. The trend is expected to continue in 2019.<\/p>\n Number of rental facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n The number of rental facilities for the year has changed by 1% (1 station) and reached 78 stations.<\/p>\n It is expected to revive the trend of opening new stations both in the regions of the presence of and in new regions.<\/p>\n Number of rental days<\/strong><\/p>\n In general, during the 9 months of the current year, the number of rental days provided in total by the Association members slightly increased and amounts to 180,829 days.<\/p>\n Comparative number of rental days of companies participating in the Association for a period of 9 months:<\/u><\/p>\n Average vehicle fleet operating utilization.<\/strong><\/p>\n The average fleet operating utilization in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was 75%, which is 5% higher than in the same period of last year. The vehicle fleet operating utilization rate for the rental companies ranges from 70% (Avis) to 77-78% (Budget, BLS, Sixt). The majority of companies-members of the Association in the reporting period increased the rate of congestion.<\/p>\n Average rental duration<\/strong><\/p>\n The average rental duration per rent in the 3rd quarter of 2018 decreased compared to the same period last year for one day and averaged 9 days. At the same time, rental companies demonstrated a different average rental period ranging from 6 to 13 days.<\/p>\n \u00a0 About the Association<\/strong><\/p>\n Association “Ukrainian Association of Lessors” (UOL) was established in 2005 as a voluntary union of professional participants in the leasing market and is the “voice” of leasing and car rental industry of Ukraine.
