The ІІІ International Leasing Conference, organized by Ukrainian Union of Lessors, summarized the year results and voiced the forecasts of industry development for the future. The event was conducted under support of Leaseurope and gathered over 120 participants from Europe, Russia, Bilorus and Ukraine.
The Association has been performing such a forum for the third time already, the organizers focused on the vitally important tendencies of the financial markets in Ukraine and Europe, problems of risk-management, car rent and others. The whole block of speeches was dedicated to the issues of leasing in agriculture. The event was devoted to lessons of crisis 2008-2009.
The speakers of the conference were the leading experts of the European leasing industry and CEOs of the best Ukrainian and Russian companies.
The first speaker was Andrzej Krzeminski, Leaseurope member of the Board and the Chairman of the executive committee of the Polish Leasing Association. And though Mr. Krzeminski was not able to be present at the forum personally because of technical problems, using modern means of communication he delivered a very interesting video speech. It was devoted to the results of the leasing market in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in Poland.
President of Leasing Association of Russia and Deputy Director General of «Sberbank Leasing» Kyryl Tsaryov in his accurate and informative speech described the features of the leasing market development in Russia . Ex-minister of economy in Ukraine Volodymyr Lanoviy gave the macroeconomic analysis of the current situation and forecasts of State development.
The Chairman of UUL Roman Ivanenko summarized the work of the leasing industry in Ukraine, he spoke about the influence of changes in taxation on performance and outlined the prospects of this segment development, pointing out that our market confirmed the status of «emerging» once again.
The participants appreciated in value the representative of the largest lessor in the world – Radobank Group Ruslan Almazov’s speech, in which he described the role of bank and leasing company in agriculture financing.
The speech of Jiri Matula, CEO of UniCredit Leasing Ukraine, made considerable impression, especially upon the foreign participants. They pointed out that his presentation was of the European level and it fully covered the issues of car leasing in Europe.
The speech of Robert van Almkerk, Leaseurope representative and Manager Rental companies at BOVAG, the Netherlands was very informative. He described the car rental market in Europe and the Netherlands, methods of fraud prevention, safety policies. Car rental industry is rather young in Ukraine, that’s why the participants were listening to his speech with great attention.
During the evening cocktails the participants had the opportunity to communicate with colleagues, partners, journalists and establish new business contacts.
As Fred Crawley, the guest from Great Britain and the editor of the professional leasing edition LeasingLife, pointed out, Ukraine is almost the only country in Europe, which conducts the leasing forums of international level.
Ukrainian Union of Lessors will continue the tradition of conducting International Leasing Conferences in future and extend geography of participants.
